CHANDIGARH: High humidity levels took up the minimum temperature on Sunday to 30.2 degrees celsius the highest in June in the past five years. It was six degrees above normal.
The temperature was recorded at 29.1 degrees celsius on Saturday.
Officials at the meteorological department told TOI, "With pre-monsoon here, humidity levels are on the rise.

The maximum humidity was recorded at 61% on Sunday evening. Besides, the maximum temperature fell from 39.1 degrees celsius on Saturday to 37.7 degrees celsius."
Surinder Paul, director of the Met department, said, "Increase in minimum temperature means humidity levels will be high this season."
The department has predicted rain on June 12. The forecast for the next 48 hours is: partly cloudy sky with possibility of dust storms and thundery development.
"There has been some relief from the scorching conditions. It seems monsoon will arrive soon," said Harjot Singh, a resident of Sector 22.
"There has not been much respite due to the rising humidity despite a dip in temperature," said Swati Suman, a resident of Sector 42. "The maximum temperature may have come down, but there's no relief as it is too humid," said Amit Thakur of Sector 21.
